HEB

CHALLENGE

HEB is a Texas based supermarket chain. The current outbreak of COVID-19 is causing turmoil throughout the country and undoubtedly puts additional stress on supply chains and grocery stores. HEB wants to design grocery subscription feature, which will allow users to get a discount on groceries if they sign up for weekly or every-other-week delivery of certain items.

ROLE

I contributed as the UX and UI Designer for this project.

Sneak peek to the design

How might we facilitate automation of deliveries but at the same time offer users enough freedom to experiment products?

SO WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

HEB wants to automate deliveries for products ordered by users regularly to add value to the online shopping experience and regulate the supply chain.

EXPAND APPLICATION FEATURES

HEB expects many customers to continue either partially or primarily getting their groceries through the mobile application. HEB wants to further expand features in the app to support this growth.

UTILIZE PATTERN

HEB has noticed that many customers order very similar items week to week, and realized they may get value from some of these items being automated.

INCREASE REVENUE

By improving the online grocery shopping experience, HEB would be able to attract new users as well as improve customer satisfaction and user experience of the current customers.

AND HOW DO WE ADDRESS IT?

Users can subscribe to 'staple items' to receive these items weekly/bi-weekly and modify their upcoming order any time.

SETUP SUBSCRIPTION

User can setup the subscription by selecting the first delivery date and time, weekly/bi-weekly repetition, default address, payment method along with items to be repeated.

STAPLES

Users can add items to the ‘Staples’ list through both the item card and under account settings. These items will be delivered weekly/bi-weekly depending on the subscription.

MODIFY ORDER

Users can make changes to the scheduled orders by accessing the order under 'Orders' tab, where it will be displayed under a separate ‘scheduled’ tab.

MODIFY SUBSCRIPTION

Users can always access account setting to modify/cancel subscription and the staples list.

Before you go...

I'm working on an updated version of this page to include the design process. I'll update it soon. Thanks for being patient! But if you're interested, you can view it on the older version.
